Uneven development

Built environment is one of the strongest measures of economic changes. While some territories loose their economic and political significance, becoming degraded into tourist attractions, others change into targets of investments and real estate speculations in no time.  These processes strengthen social differences: the powerful are usually beneficiaries; the most vulnerable are only objects of the changes. The dramas of Istanbul, London, Venice, and Valparaiso are presented in this section.

Megalomania (Jonathan Gales, 2013, 5’)
